A broad outline of the OEM/ODM process flow is explained in simple terms. This link also contains Q&A regarding topics regularly asked by customers.
We are not merely a commissioned manufacturer but a planning type company that gives shape to the customer’s image. The source of this planning capability is the abundant data we have built up from the trial production of 3,000 prototypes per year.
We make production systems geared to customers’ needs a reality, under the motto of “Customer First, Quality First”.
Everything starts with trial production. First we find out what the customer wants and then we manufacture a prototype. The flow from concept to delivery is outlined in the following sketch. Our proposals are tailored to suit each customer’s sales route, sales price, and lot size--and it all starts by telling us your requirements.
OEM is the abbreviation for Original Equipment Manufacturing, which is a means of manufacturing a customer’s private brand by outsourcing. In Japanese it is called “commissioned manufacturing”.
The process that is an evolution of OEM and stretches from planning and materials selection to product commercialization is referred to as ODM (Original Design Manufacturing), which supports the entire production process from planning to manufacture.
We put particular focus on our “planning type” style, which tends to be closer to ODM.
